Our philosophy: as a painter who paints a treasure, we tell a part of life and its emotions from cloth. We are sure about what the customer and we want to create together, because we know well and understand him/her and his /her will. Cutting and sewing, we take care of every detail and everything we need. Important to use raw materials for realize an handmade dress, as sartorial tradition. In this way we create a high quality handmade suit, a jacket, trousers, or a coat or a vest. Our specialty is formal dress to make unforgettable your wedding day. We are cloth’s artisan, always in step with time. Art, creativity and passion we put in our job let us to satisfy tastes our customers, so every dress would be as a second skin. And what that should never miss, we give to our creations originality, style and elegance, making them unique to their owners.
The tailor's shop 'Sartoria Italiano' has been founded in 1965 by the 'Maestro' Luigi Italiano. He was born in a family of artisans in Belmonte Mezzagno, a village near Palermo. Since when he was child, he frequented the country tailor's shop, by the well-known tailor Mr. Giuseppe Franciamore. At the age of 16, he began to work by the “Commendatore” Giovanni La Parola, one of the best tailors in Palermo, where he worked till the the 60 's. He attended the school of “Sartotecnica” in Milan, presided by the “Maestro” Dante Saveri; and when he was 19, he got the diploma of “Tailor for Men and Classic Lady” with the highest grades. After these and other long experiences, where he have learnt all the techniques and all the tricks of the trade, he opened his first atelier in Palermo, in via XII Gennaio. In the 70s he met Pippo Ferina, known tailor in Palermo, with which he worked for about 30 years in the tailor's shop “Sartoria Ferina-Italiano”. Now his son Claudio, who since the childhood frequented the workshop, has joined the tailor's shop. After a long apprenticeship, three years experience in Rome attending the school of the 'European Chamber of Haute Couture' presided by the Maestro Luigi Gallo, and knowing some tailors of the italian capital, Claudio Italiano continues, with diligence and passion, together with his father, the great family tradition that has already lasted two generations.
